About Us

Here in Florence, South Carolina, we are a body of sinners saved by the grace of a wonderful and loving God. As we pursue the God who saved us, we desire to submit ourselves to His transforming power and let Him mold us day by day to become more like Jesus - the humble and loving servant. We desire to not only worship our God and savior when we assemble on Sundays and Wednesdays, but we desire - in spite of our imperfections - to worship Him with our daily lives. We do this alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ who provide a wonderful Christian community of fellowship to love, forgive, encourage, nurture, and inspire. 

Can something come from nothing? No natural laws can explain something coming from nothing. It is only by the SUPERNATURAL that something could come from nothing. We believe God is the all-powerful, good, and perfect One who created this universe, bringing about something from nothing. 

We believe the overwhelming evidence that He gave us a book - the Bible - which He inspired and protected through history, by which we learn of Him and live by. We believe the Bible tells of God's perfect love and perfect holiness. God desires to walk in fellowship with His people. However, sin presents a problem! 

Since God is perfectly holy, He is by nature unable to fellowship with anything or anyone marred by sin. Sin separates an unholy people from THE holy God. Under the Old Testament, which God provided for us as a tutor, God required animal sacrifices to illustrate to His people how much He hates sin and that life is required to pay the price of sin. 

Then Jesus came into the world! On the cross, Jesus became the perfect, sinless Lamb of God, who bore the consequence of death for all of us and paid the price for all of our sin. Through Jesus' sacrifice, God's demand for justice for our sins was satisfied. Through Jesus' sacrifice, unholy people could be cleansed and made holy and fellowship could be restored with a holy God. What an amazing and wonderful plan! 

Jesus planted His church, which we see detailed in the New Testament. Jesus' church - the church of the New Testament - is bought by and saved by the priceless blood of Jesus Himself! Jesus promises those in His church the gift of eternal life. This is a gift that cannot be earned or worked for! It is a gift given freely to all those humble enough to accept the grace of God. Jesus' church is not a human institution. It's not an institution that a preacher or pastor or some clergy member can add you to. Jesus himself can add you to His church.
